Many APC Ministers, Governors Not Fond of Tinubu — Party Chieftain

According to Alwan Hassan, a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the majority of governors and ministers don’t really like President Bola Tinubu.

He said that the majority of politicians in the ruling party are interested in him due to his authority during an appearance on Channels TV’s breakfast program, “Sunrise Daily,” on Tuesday.

He claims that the true threat to President Tinubu’s reelection may come from inside the ruling APC rather than from the opposition parties.

Many of our party’s (APC) ministers and governors don’t really care about President Tinubu. He added, “They want him for what he is, not for who he is.

Hassan stated that he was extremely concerned by the behavior of some powerful members of the ruling party, pointing out that their acts show a pattern of political opportunism rather than allegiance or dedication to Tinubu’s leadership.

He maintained that the president was surrounded by individuals who were more concerned with their own interests and political advantages than with actually assisting his administration or securing his electoral success.

Hassan emphasized that any significant setback Tinubu would have could be from sabotage by those closest to him, saying that this internal mindset is what scares him the most when he considers the upcoming election.

Hassan stated, “It is our own self and the way we treat our own people that is making me scared of the election,” when asked if ADC posed a challenge to APC in the 2027 elections. There will be internal sabotage.

Hassan claimed that similar warning signs were appearing within the APC, drawing comparisons to the political events that resulted in former President Goodluck Jonathan’s loss in 2015.

He noted that a network of internal political players and supporters who worked against Jonathan contributed to his downfall in addition to foreign opposition.

Jonathan experienced the same thing. To defeat Jonathan in elections, we used many of his supporters. He stated, “That is exactly what is happening right now.
