2027: Aondoakaa Denies Alia, Akume Influence in Move to PDP

Michael Aondoakaa, the former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, has stated that neither Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia nor Secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF George Akume have anything to do with his choice to rejoin the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Aondoakaa reportedly said this during an interview on Arise Television’s “Morning Show” on Wednesday.

Aondoakaa emphasized that his desire to better Benue is the driving force behind his defection to the PDP, which he called a “homecoming.”

He further explained his objective by saying that he wanted to use the extra money from President Tinubu’s reforms to enhance rural regions, supply food and shelter, and make sure Benue State achieved all 17 of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

The former AGF said that he would accomplish this by upholding all state laws, notably the anti-grazing statute.

“My decision to join the PDP has nothing to do with Governor Alia SGF Akume,” he declared. During the PDP administration, I served as Attorney General. It feels like I’m returning home to pursue my own goals and aspirations after being promoted to Attorney General and Minister of Justice.

“I want to implement my programs in a different manner. My approach is to ensure that the funds coming into the state are used to help rural communities.

“By doing this, I will have the chance to activate all state and federal laws that are pertinent to the protection of people and property in Benue State.”
