Osimhen Close to Galatasaray Return Ahead of Crucial Derby

Before the season’s biggest domestic matchup against Fenerbahce on April 26, Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is anticipated to return to full training on April 20.

According to reports from Aksam Newspaper, Victor Osimhen’s recuperation from the forearm injury he sustained during Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League match last month is proceeding as planned. After losing to Galatasaray 4-0 in the second leg of the match, the Premier League team ultimately won the match 4-1 on aggregate.

The 27-year-old Nigerian international reportedly had surgery soon after the second-leg match and has been recovering away from the starting lineup.

For coach Okan Buruk, whose team is engaged in a fierce title chase, Osimhen’s anticipated return could scarcely come at a better moment. Trabzonspor defeated Galatasaray 2-1 at Papara Park last weekend, exposing the team’s lack of creativity in the absence of their top striker.

This season, Osimhen has been among Turkish football’s best players. With 19 league goals and seven assists in 29 games, he has been instrumental in maintaining Galatasaray at the top for the majority of the season. He is the most productive player for the Turkish powerhouses thanks to his combination of strength, speed, and constant pushing.
