Rotimi Amaechi, who used to be the governor of Rivers State, has talked about why he left the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Amaechi, who is now one of the main candidates for president from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), spoke on Channels TV on Friday.
The former governor said that the ex-president Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience Jonathan, kicked him out of the PDP and took over the party’s structure in Rivers.
Amaechi said that the same thing happened in the APC when he ran against Bola Tinubu in the party’s presidential primary election.
When asked why he switched parties, Amaechi said, “The then president chased me out of PDP and APC.”
“The president and his wife took over the party in Rivers State and kicked me out.” The same thing happened in the APC.
