The All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State has officially denied reports that Rev. Fr. David Terzugwe Golozo is the party’s choice for the Gboko West (Gbemacha) State Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Gboko LGA chairman, Hon. Terfa Iorgilim, signed a statement saying that the party does not agree with the article that is currently going around on social media.
The statement called the claim “false, misleading, and completely unauthorized,” and said it looks like a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and change how the party works internally.
The statement said, “To be clear, the APC in Gboko LGA has never chosen or supported any one person as a consensus candidate for the said constituency.”
The party also said that none of its ward structures, key stakeholders, or the State Working Committee had approved such a decision.
The APC leadership says that this development is “political mischief” that could cause unnecessary tension in the party and in the larger political scene.
It told the people or groups behind the claim to take down the publication right away, saying that disciplinary action could be taken against any member found to be responsible.
The APC said again that it would choose candidates in a way that was open and followed the Constitution. It also promised members and supporters that official decisions would be made known through the right channels.
The statement ended with a clear message that the APC does not currently have a consensus candidate for Gboko West (Gbemacha).
