Mahmud Sadis Buba, a politician and grassroots mobiliser, 30, has announced his intention to contest the House of Representatives seat to represent Sabon Gari Federal Constituency of Kaduna State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Buba, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), declared his ambition after picking the party’s Expression of Interest and nomination forms.
He said this in a statement on his verified Facebook page.
Buba said he joined the race with a purpose to represent the people of Sabon Gari and bring inclusive development to them.
“I humbly announce today that I have procured my nomination form to run for the House of Representatives, Sabon Gari Federal Constituency,” he said.
“My journey from being a driver to where I am today has been about hard work, resilience and believing in the ability of anyone, from any background, to rise up and serve.”
Buba was born on August 2, 1995, and hails from Sabon Gari, Zaria, Kaduna State.
Before fully transitioning to politics, he worked as a driver, which has influenced his political message of grassroots inclusion and equal opportunity.
He now heads the “Tinubu–Uba Sani Agenda ’27” support group and has become more active in APC political circles in Kaduna State.
Over the years, Buba has been seen with key political figures including President Bola Tinubu, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, Bello El-Rufai and Seyi Tinubu.
In the course of his consultations, he presented his nomination forms to Akpabio, Vice President Kashim Shettima and other APC leaders.

If elected into the National Assembly, Buba in his campaign message pledged to focus on honest and people-oriented representation.
“I am coming with a clear vision to represent the people of Sabon Gari with honesty, dedication and true leadership,” he said.
“Your voice will be heard, your issues will be taken seriously and together we will work for real development and opportunities for all,” Mr. O’Neill said.
His campaign was about the progress of the people and the unity of the constituency, he stated.
The aspiration has attracted reactions from political stakeholders including former Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani.
Sani had in a post on his verified X handle described Buba’s ambition as an inspiration to young Nigerians.

Buba said he was recently in a meeting with Vice President Shettima, who prayed for him and encouraged him.
It has only made him more determined to run, he said.
If elected in 2027, Buba would be among the youngest lawmakers in the National Assembly and could also make history as the shortest person to serve in the Nigerian parliament.
