Charly Boy has recalled the dramatic moment he snatched the microphone from Okorocha while addressing guests at his father’s burial ceremony in 2014, in a recent interview, it was reported.
Charly Boy said the former Governor was trying to turn the solemn occasion into a political campaign platform.
More than a decade later, the veteran musician made it clear that he still stands by his actions, stressing that he would have slapped Okorocha.
“Mmhmm,” he said. Is that criminal? “Am for don slap I. He wanted to use my father’s funeral to campaign for politics. And you don’t do that. “Not while I’m around.”
Charly Boy also said that Okorocha was asked to leave the venue of the burial after interrupting his speech.
The former Governor, he said, knew the situation though he came with security personnel.
And he knew he was in my territory,” he said. “Na my territory him dey, even with all him bodyguards.”
Meanwhile, Charly Boy recently slammed former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, over the comment about the administration of Abia State Governor, Alex Otti.
Sowore said what he witnessed in Aba during the protest for the release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, was a “half-transformation” and not a complete transformation as claimed by members of the Labour Party.
Sowore partly said: “I can confirm to everyone that Alex Otti is a failure, he is only doing half transformation in Abia State. I don’t believe in that sort of thing.
Reacting, Charly Boy in a post via 𝕏 said Sowore is a green snake under green grass and a spy of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
