2027: ‘It Is Surprising That ADC Is Making Same Mistake PDP Made’ – Senator Umeh

Senator representing Anambra Central, Victor Umeh, has declared that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is repeating the same mistake that cost the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) the 2023 election.

Umeh was reported to have said this while explaining why the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) decided to zone its presidency to the Southern part of Nigeria.

He answered questions in an interview on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’. Umeh said the NDC took the decision to complete the remaining four years of the eight-year tenure of the South.

The lawmaker said it is impossible to challenge the Southern Nigerian, knowing they are entitled to two terms in office.

“NDC was able to rise to the occasion by doing the needful,” he said. In politics you have to do what will make you succeed. You must have a sense of equity, a sense of balance, something that will bring people to you.

“The African Democratic Congress, ADC, could not do the zoning. The PDP lost the election in 2023 due to zoning. So it is surprising that with all the efforts we made, the ADC with the strength intermask decided to make the same mistake again.

“Knowing that there is no way you can come and challenge the Southern Nigeria in this election, where they are entitled to two terms in office; eight years.

“In the last dispensation, eight years when it shifted to the turn of the South, it became necessary that any right thinking person should be able to take candidates from the southern part of Nigeria.
