Primate Elijah Ayodele has blasted the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the deteriorating security situation in Nigeria, stating that the government lacks the willpower to confront insecurity headlong.
The cleric said in a statement by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, that the federal government and security agencies know the individuals and groups behind insecurity in the country, but have failed to take decisive action against them.
Ayodele said the insecurity problem in Nigeria started when some politicians used armed groups for political purposes and later lost control of them.
“The Nigerian government is not taking the issue of security seriously because it is looking like a curse to the Nigerian government,” he said.
He further said, “Secret of insecurity is known to the government and all service chiefs but they are scared.
The cleric also said some traditional rulers are connected to insecurity in parts of the country and asked why authorities have not acted against those allegedly involved.
Insecurity now has become a business in Nigeria and the situation may continue unless the government is ready to take tough and decisive actions,” Ayodele warned.
