Sani Abacha’s Son Defeated In Kano PDP Governorship Primary

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has declared Alhaji Muhammad Bello Dalhat as winner of its primary election for the Kano State governorship race after defeating his fellow aspirant, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Abacha, the son of former Head of State, Sani Abacha.

The result announced by the chairman of the election committee appointed by the PDP national leadership, Hon. Umar Danjani Hadejia showed that Muhammad Bello Dalhat got 2,233 votes to emerge winner of the contest.

He received 749 votes in the primary election.

The statement said: “With the total votes collated, Alhaji Muhammad Bello Dalhat has polled the highest number of votes and declared winner and the PDP governorship candidate for Kano State.

The primary election is held as political parties step up their preparations for the 2027 general elections across the country.
