The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke has said that Children’s Day is a reminder of the collective responsibility to nurture, protect and invest in the young generation.
The governor who congratulated children across the state and Nigeria on the 2026 Children’s Day celebration, described them as the hope, pride and future of society.
In a statement issued in Osogbo by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke said children are the reason why government must continue to work tirelessly to build a better future for the society.
The governor said children are “the foundation of tomorrow’s Osun State. “Every child has a right to quality education, health care, protection and equal opportunities, regardless of social background.”
“The dreams, gifts and hopes of children are key to the future growth and prosperity of the state,” he said.
He said the administration values all children in public schools, private institutions and government care homes equally.
“Children are the hope, pride and future of the society,” the governor said.
Adeleke reiterated his administration’s commitment to policies and programmes aimed at the welfare, growth and development of children across the state.
He said there were continuous efforts to improve access to quality education, safe learning environments, child welfare services and better living conditions for young people.
The governor also urged parents, guardians, teachers and religious leaders to continue to inculcate discipline, moral values, respect and compassion in children, adding that raising responsible children is a collective responsibility.
Adeleke cautioned against child abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence, adding that any society that failed to protect its children was in danger of jeopardizing its future.
“As we celebrate our children today, I assure every parent and child that our administration will leave no stone unturned in protecting and developing the future of our young ones,” the governor stated.
