THE BIRTH OF OKANGA: A BLESSING TO HUMANITY

Every child born into this world comes with great expectations. The truth is that no one truly knows what the future holds for any child. Among children born into different families and circumstances may emerge one who will transform not only his family but also his community, state, or even a nation. This is why no child should ever be neglected or looked down upon at birth, because the very child that may be ignored today could become the person who changes the story of an entire generation tomorrow.
In view of this undeniable reality, every child deserves equal treatment, proper care, love, and opportunities to succeed in life. History has repeatedly shown that greatness is not determined by the condition of one’s birth but by destiny, character, determination, and the grace of God.
The inspiring story of the Deputy Spokesman of the 10th House of Representatives, Hon. Chief Dr. Bishop Philip Agbese, popularly known as Okanga 1 of Agila, stands as a powerful lesson for humanity. His life journey clearly demonstrates how a child raised with values, purpose, and compassion can grow to become a blessing to society.
Hon. Philip Agbese was born into the royal family of the late Chief Philip Agbese from the Ikpilogwu clan in Agila. Though he came from a humble background, he was blessed with palace training and early leadership exposure. From childhood, he displayed outstanding qualities of empathy, compassion, humility, and responsibility. Leadership was naturally part of him, and he consistently showed concern for the welfare of others.
As a young man growing up, he never missed opportunities to contribute positively to humanity. He made sacrifices for people around him and extended help wherever possible. Even before entering public office, many people benefited from his kindness and generosity. His life became a testimony of service, and it was obvious to many that he was destined for greatness.
It is often said that destiny cannot be hidden. In 2023, when God called him to contest for the Enone Federal Constituency seat, he answered the call with courage and determination because he was deeply touched by the suffering and pains of his people. While helping his constituents as a private citizen without holding any public office, he repeatedly stated that if given the opportunity to serve in government, he would dedicate his resources and influence towards improving the lives of the people.
Indeed, God heard his prayers and opened doors for him, even when the journey seemed impossible. Today, as the Honourable Member representing Ado, Okpokwu, and Ogbadibo Federal Constituency, his people are enjoying remarkable dividends of democracy unlike ever before. Across the communities in Enone Federal Constituency, many voices now sing praises of his name because of the impact of his leadership.
Through various empowerment programmes, humanitarian interventions, developmental projects, and people oriented representation, the story of Enone has changed positively. Many people now have renewed hope because of the emergence of one man called Okanga. It is clear that his leadership has brought transformation, unity, and progress to the constituency.
One can only imagine what Enone would have become if such a leader had not emerged at this critical time. The people might have continued experiencing poor leadership, neglect, and underdevelopment. However, through the birth and rise of Okanga, the narrative has changed for the better.
Indeed, the birth of Okanga is a blessing to humanity. His life is a reminder that greatness can emerge from humble beginnings and that every child deserves love, guidance, and opportunity. He has become a symbol of hope, sacrifice, and service to the people. To many, he represents the Moses of our time, a leader committed to changing the story of his people and leading them towards a brighter future.
