Panic gripped Borno community as Boko Haram terrorists abducted 13 travellers, including a seven-month-old baby along the Biu-Damaturu highway through the Kamuya axis of the state.
Terrorists intercepted two Golf Wagon vehicles along the road, carrying passengers, and took the victims away to an unknown destination.
Families of the kidnapped victims have now made a passionate appeal to the Federal Government, Borno State Government, security agencies and other relevant authorities to intensify efforts towards rescuing their loved ones and reuniting them with their families.
In a statement, they made the appeal, lamenting that relatives of the victims have remained in deep pain, fear and uncertainty since the incident, with little or no information about the whereabouts or condition of those abducted.
“The families are appealing to government authorities, security agencies, humanitarian organisations and all relevant stakeholders to urgently intervene and ensure the safe rescue of the abducted travellers,” the statement said.
