Jonathan Lost 2015 Election Because He Ignored My Advice — Fr. Mbaka

Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, the Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry Enugu, Nigeria, AMEN, has disclosed that former president, Goodluck Jonathan lost 2015 election because he refused to listen to advice.

Mbaka said he had advised the former president to sack the then Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission, Attahiru Jega, but his advice was not taken seriously.

The cleric, who spoke in a viral video while clarifying his earlier statement that the insecurity ravaging the country has political undertone.

It was reported that the cleric had said that the security crisis was orchestrated by some unscrupulous politicians to remove President Bola Tinubu, as they did to Jonathan.

However, the comment has generated backlash on social media with netizens associating Mbaka to the reason why Jonathan lost his re-election bid in 2015.

However, Mbaka said in the new video that Jonathan failed due to his miscalculation, adding that the former president disobeyed the “advice of a man of God”.

“Forget about what they are talking on social media, the case is different. Former President Goodluck Jonathan was my friend.

Jonathan didn’t fail because I failed him, he chose to fail. I told him how to win the election but he didn’t want to do it.

For he did not hearken to the counsel of a man of God, and he perished. “I told him to remove Jega, that Jega had already betrayed him but he refused to remove Jega,” he said.
