President Buhari set to dissolve cabinet as he chairs valedictory session of FEC meeting

The Presidential Villa’s Council Chamber in Abuja is alive with activity as members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) gather for a significant valedictory session presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to the report, Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo will be present, as will all 44 ministers and ministers of state.

The session begins with the President administering the oath of office to seven federal Revenue Mobilisation Fiscal and Allocation Commission (RMFAC) commissioners.

The FEC is expected to adopt resolutions from its last three meetings, which included two extraordinary sessions and one regular meeting, with over 15 sessions held in 2023 alone.

Furthermore, President Buhari is expected to dissolve the cabinet, effectively ending the current administration’s ministerial team.

Following the dissolution, each minister will be given the opportunity to deliver speeches and be recognised.

Following that, the ministers will hand over their responsibilities to the permanent secretaries in their respective ministries, symbolising a smooth power transition.
