On Thursday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu said that Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers state, was not only the FCT Minister but also his advisor.
At the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Tinubu made this statement as he greeted the influential 62-member delegation from Rivers state.
He acknowledged that he had heard the concerns of Rivers State’s stakeholders about the need for infrastructure development, particularly for the deteriorated Elementary junction-Onne axis of the East West Road connecting the Port Harcourt Refinery.
The President was reported as stating in a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale: “The Honorable Minister, Wike, is not only the Minister of the FCT; he is also my adviser and a friend of mine. The State should support him because he has made a strong start.
The President declared, “I am the Captain and Chief Salesman of the country,” while urging the younger people to exercise more patience with the legislative and judicial processes. In a short amount of time, we must change the trend and realize the potential. Our citizens have high standards for us. The President said, “I promise to put in a lot of effort and I ask God to direct me in the proper direction so that I won’t let Nigerians down.
