Ado Ibrahim, Ohinoyi of Ebira Land, Prominent monarch of Kogi, dies at 95

Ado Ibrahim, a prominent figure in Kogi State and the Ohinoyi of Ebira country, has joined his ancestors.

After a brief illness, he passed away early on Sunday.

Islamic customs will be followed at the burial of the well-known monarch, who passed away at the age of 95.

It should be remembered that the late Prince Abubakar Audu, the governor of Kogi State at the time, crowned the late Ado Ibrahim as the Ohinoyi of Ebira land in 1997.

Alhaji Sanni Omolorim, who ruled from 1957 to 1997, was his predecessor when he assumed office.

Born on February 7, 1929, the late Ado Ibrahim completed his elementary education at the Native Authority (NA) primary school in Okene, Northern Region (now Kogi State) in 1940 after attending both western nursery and Quranic schools.

After starting his secondary studies at Ondo Boys High School, he subsequently transferred to Oduduwa College, from which he received his diploma in 1949.

The London School of Economics awarded him a bachelor’s degree in economics in 1954, and Harvard Business School awarded him a master’s degree in 1959.
