I’m pleased to inform you all that I have been selected to be a part of the Pan-African Parliament, the legislative body of the African Union. The Parliament comprises five members per member state and I’m honoured to lead the Nigerian contingent.
As a budding pan-Africanist, this is an extra motivation for me to enhance brotherhood and collaboration among black people, using legislation as a potent tool. My lifelong dream has always been to unite Africans and eliminate colonialism and white supremacy from the continent.
I’m, therefore, thrilled over the prospect of working alongside other parliamentarians with the same drive for Africa’s economic development and integration. I’m confident that together, we will address some of the problems and challenges facing the mother continent, ultimately improving the welfare of our immediate constituency.
Let me use this opportunity to appreciate the House leadership led by the Rt Hon. Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas for deeming me fit for this highly-coveted role. I’m honoured and humbled at the same time and promise to further legislation for the interests of Nigerians and my people.
