AAU Ekpoma Appoints New Deputy Vice-Chancellors

Prof. (Mrs.) Eunice Omonzejie, the 9th Substantive Vice-Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, submitted the names of two distinguished professors to the Senate for approval during her first Senate meeting.

Professor Osagie Ekhator, who will be the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), and Professor Andrew Omon Eromonsele, who will be the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), were the nominations.

The appointments are required to complete the full complement of principal officers needed to get her administration off to a strong start, the vice chancellor explained.

She requested and received unanimous Senate approval for the appointments.

Nonetheless, the Vice-Chancellor underlined that “the administration would be strengthened by the expertise of these two professors.”

Sociology professor Andrew Omon Eromonsele teaches at Ambrose Alli University in Ekpoma.

He graduated from the Universities of Ibadan, Benin, and Ambrose Alli with a B.Sc., M.Sc., and PhD. in sociology, respectively.

The sociology of development, workplace, gender studies, health and illness, and rural communalism are among his areas of expertise.

He has attended national, regional, and worldwide conferences, workshops, and seminars in addition to publishing a large number of scholarly articles.

Professor Eromonsele belongs to a number of professional associations, such as the American Sociological Association, Nigerian Industrial Relations Association, and Nigerian Institute of Management.

Among his many roles have been Sub-Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Acting Head of the Department of Sociology.

Prof. Osagie Ekhator, the newly appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, is a professor of algae and lichenology at Ambrose Alli University in Ekpoma.

He is a committed educator, researcher, and mentor who has made significant contributions to the study of phytoplankton and freshwater ecology.

He has published multiple publications in respected journals and concentrates his study on employing algae as indicators of ecosystem health and water quality.

In addition to being a prolific writer, novelist, actor, and producer of gospel films, Prof. Ekhator is a complex individual outside of the classroom.

In addition to founding the P. I. Ekhator Foundation, which funds ministry development and education, he holds a number of leadership positions, including Chairman of the Edo State Chapter of ANCEDRAM.

He brings to Ambrose Alli University his vision for character-based education, research innovation, and academic excellence in his role as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics).

Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma currently has the entire complement of main officers needed to begin full management and administration of the institution with the appointment of these Deputy Vice Chancellors.
