The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ogun State chapter, Abayomi Tella, has said that the state governor, Dapo Abiodun, still breathes and works on the blueprint of the PDP.

Tella stated this on Monday while speaking to newsmen shortly after his inauguration as the party’s chairman.

He alleged that the Cargo Airport built by the APC’s Abiodun was an initiative of the PDP.

According to report Abiodun joined the PDP in 1999 as a founding member and contested the primaries for the governorship ticket in Ogun in 2002.

Also, the APC’s Gbenga Daniel served as a PDP governor between 2003 and 2011, and Ibikunle Amosun was the PDP senator representing Ogun Central in 2003.

Tella asserted that the governors Gbenga Daniel and Ibikunle Amosun, even after defecting, were still following the blueprint of the party.

He said, “It will shock you to hear it from me if you didn’t know before that the past three governors were members of this party. Otunba Gbenga Daniel was a member of the PDP, Ibikunle Amosun, and even the present governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, was a member of the PDP. In fact, go and cross-check; they are still following the blueprint of the PDP.

“I would give you just one example: the Agro Cargo Airport is a baby initiated by the PDP administration under Otunba Gbenga Daniel, and because of its importance, you would see that Prince Dapo Abiodun is now diverting attention to that place to make it happen. So you can see that they are still breathing PDP inside of them, but interest sometimes brings separation in politics, and it is not out of place.

Speaking on his plans to reposition the party for 2027, he maintained that, alongside his executives, they were ready to bring the party back to its rightful place.

“I have my blueprints, but that does not mean that it’s going to disparage the party’s manifesto; it’s going to be interdependent. Like I have said, I have challenged the new executives that we have a task ahead of us, and that’s the truth.

“I want to assure the people of Ogun State that the PDP will come out united, rejuvenated, and strong, with a united front to go into further elections.”

He urged aggrieved members to return to the party, adding that it is prepared for the local government elections scheduled for November 16.
