The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has declared Olumide Osoba, son of former governor of Ogun state, Segun Osoba as the winner of the House of Representatives seat for Abeokuta North/Odeda/Obafemi-Owode federal constituency in the state.
To emerge the winner of the polls, Olumide who vied for the post under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) overcame his closest opponent Micky Kazzim of the Allied Peoples Movement with 33,538 votes.
Results revealed by INEC Returning Officer of the election, Prof. Ismaila Salami showed Kazzim, a serving member of House of Representatives got 14,903 votes to come second while the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party came third with 14,313 votes.
The results by INEC which was declared at the collation centre located at Unity high school, Ago-Ika, Abeokuta also showed that one of the daughters of MKO Abiola, Rinsola who contested on the platform of the Action Democratic Party polled 10,834 to place fourth.
