Uganda head coach, Paul Put, has asked his players to be ready and focused for their game against Nigeria.
According to him, Nigeria’s team is very strong and presents a big challenge.
Nigeria has already qualified for the knockout stage after beating Tunisia, and many people think the Super Eagles might change some players for the next game against the Cranes.
Speaking before the match, Put said the final choices about which players will be in the team will be decided by the Super Eagles’ head coach, Eric Chelle.
“It could be possible. Some players received yellow cards, and the coach will make the decision,” adding “I can’t be in the coach’s mind. Even if there are some changes.
The Belgian coach believes Nigeria will still have a good team and pointed out that the West African squad has a lot of talented players.
“We are expecting the team to play, and we know the skill level of Nigerian players is very high,” he said.
He added that “many Nigerian players compete at the top level in Europe, which gives them a strong physical and technical edge.”
He said that Uganda needs to stay focused and watchful during the entire game.
“They compete in top-tier events across Europe. We know how strong they are, so we need to stay very focused. We need to stay really alert about everything and get ready to fight in each battle.
“It’s important because this is one of Nigeria’s strong points,” he said.
Nigeria is leading Group C with six points and, even though they have already qualified for the knockout stage, they need to win their remaining games to become the group winners.
Uganda is at the bottom of the group with only one point and needs to win their next match if they want to have any chance of moving forward to the next round.
