Hilda Baci, a Nigerian cook, has called on Lagos locals to step up and pick up food from her just finished effort to set a Guinness World Record for the largest pot of jollof rice.
According to reports, thousands of kg of rice were produced at the event, which took place at the Eko Hotel in Lagos. Despite extensive packing and distribution attempts, a significant portion of the rice is still accessible.
In an Instagram video message, Baci clarified that there was still too much food and urged people to bring containers so they could take portions home.
She emphasized that the food must not be wasted and said she would stay at the location until the enormous pot was empty.
She praised the lunch as plentiful and well-prepared, and said everyone in Lagos is welcome to eat it.
“We’re still packaging food,” she remarked. The food is still plenty. Come on over and get the food, please, you guys. We can’t waste it because it’s a lot. The cuisine is wonderful, please. A trial will persuade you, I assure you. Come on in; feel free to bring your coolers. Look, we have plenty of food left.
“There is still a lot of food despite all the wrapping. I humbly ask that you all visit the Eko Hotel. It is six in the morning. I’m not going anywhere. Since the day before yesterday, I have been here. And until this pot is empty and everyone in Lagos has consumed this cuisine, I won’t leave this place. Therefore, if possible, please attend and enjoy this meal.
