Godswill Akpabio, Senate President, has finally addressed the rumors surrounding his recent breakdown during his birthday party.
Akpabio told reporters in the Senate on Friday that the purported collapse was caused by a combination of malaria and tiredness.
He stated that he had been diagnosed with malaria following the colloquium on December 7th in Abuja.
He also downplayed the occurrence, calling it a “show of humanity” and attributed it to exhaustion exacerbated by the event’s tension.
“What eventually happened after the event was a display of humanity,” he remarked. I went home and phoned my doctors, who told me that I had malaria mixed with stress, also known as fatigue.

“Anyone could be exhausted.” Please drink water on a daily basis to avoid exhaustion.
“This is to say that work is still being done. I want to reassure Nigerians that the National Assembly is still functioning and that we are continuing with our duties and appropriations.
“We will return on December 20th.” But first, the various committees must complete their job in order for us to fulfill the deadline of passing the budget by the end of the year so that the president may sign it.”
Akpabio told Nigerians that the Senate is still open for business and on track to enact the national budget before the end of the year. He indicated that parliamentary activity will resume on December 20th and that committees must complete their work before the deadline.
