According to Nollywood actress Angela Okorie, she declines invitations to some gatherings since she knows that some people don’t like her.
Speaking via an Instagram post, she said that not everyone extends an invitation because they truly admire someone, and that some invitations are intended to hurt, damage, or spiritually attack gullible guests.
She emphasized the value of discernment and prayer, saying that only God is able to determine people’s genuine motivations.
Okorie clarified that she purposefully skips some occasions, pointing out that even while some people may not truly like her, they still want to see her because she “brings life to the party.” She went on to say that no appearance fee could persuade her to go somewhere her spirit forbids.
“You shouldn’t accept every invitation,” she wrote.
“As a human being, you need to pray for deceit so God can show you who you are dealing with because some people are plotting to kill or destroy you. The majority of you don’t like me, but you want me at your events because I’m the life of the party.”
