Ann-Kio Briggs, a human rights advocate and Rivers Elders Forum member, has said that the PDP has betrayed the confidence of Nigerians and the people of Rivers State.
Speaking on Channels Television’s “Sunday Politics,” Briggs claimed that the state’s citizens were forced to bear the costs of protracted political crises because the party had failed to take decisive action.
Regarding the political developments in the state, she lamented that although Rivers residents had been loyal to the PDP since 1999, the party had fallen short when it counted most.
As a shareholder and senior, Briggs stated, “I definitely feel let down by the PDP because, since 1999, we have always voted for the PDP, including me.”
The human rights advocate added that the PDP’s carelessness exacerbated the political climate in Rivers State and that the party permitted internal strife and power conflicts to erode its influence.
She claimed that the state was obliged to deal with harm that could have been prevented had the PDP behaved appropriately because of the neglect.
