APC Blasts Atiku, Accuses Him of Alarmism and Plotting Anarchy

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubarka of being an alarmist who wants to destabilize the country by raising a false alarm about hunger and insecurity that could lead to a bloody revolution.

The former vice president has always opposed the current administration because, as an opposition figure, he has called the policies of the ruling APC under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu anti-people.

Atiku made a comparison between Nigeria’s predicament and the events that led to the French Revolution (1789), the Bolshevick Revolution (1917), and the Arab Spring (2010) that engulfed the Arab world on September 15, 2025.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday, Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary for the African National Congress (APC), described the vituperation of the PDP’s presidential candidate in the general election of 2023 as “a new low in a recent streak of incendiary commentaries by Atiku.”

Morka described Atiku’s outburst as “reckless, irresponsible, unbefitting and degrading to his status as former Vice President,” calling it unworthy of a former vice president.

“Atiku’s statement is nothing less than a tacit instigation of a revolution in Nigeria,” Morka stated, despite being presented as a criticism of the economic policies of President Tinubu’s administration. His remarks are disrespectful to his position as a former vice president and are careless, reckless, and inappropriate.

With the help of enormous oil profits, Atiku and his PDP had the chance to end hunger, poverty, and insecurity during his two terms as vice president. This was not accomplished by Atiku and his PDP. In actuality, they had no effect whatsoever on Nigeria’s hunger, poverty, or insecurity. Despite their 16 years in power, they were unable to end hunger, poverty, and insecurity in Nigeria.

Rather, Atiku and his PDP democratized poverty and hunger in our nation. They made corruption and wastefulness official policy while pillaging and looting our money. Atiku and his PDP solidified the vile underpinnings of poverty, starvation, and insecurity, which President Tinubu is valiantly and tenaciously fighting to eradicate, with increasing success.

“As vice president, Atiku had no idea how to address Nigeria’s economic problems. He’s a perpetual presidential candidate, but he still has no idea how to address our nation’s economic problems,” he said.
