GOVERNOR Aminu Masari of Katsina State says the All Progressives Congress has done well across the nation.

The governor also declared that the victory of the party in the 2023 general elections is a forgone conclusion.

He hinged his confidence on his belief that the party had laid a solid foundation for its participation in the elections, going by the recently held membership registration and revalidation as well as ward and councils congresses.

Masari made the declaration last night when he received the mid-term report of last Saturday’s local government congress of the party from the National Working Committee headed by Aliyu Kumo at the Government House, Katsina.

The Governor said, “APC has done well all over the country. We are going back for state congresses, and finally we cap it with the national convention that will produce elected leaders of the party.”

He emphasised that considering the massive registration of APC members across the country during the party’s last membership registration and revalidation exercise, even if only 70 per cent of those who registered vote in the 2023 forthcoming elections, the party will be sure of getting 30 million votes.

“So we can say that success is only a short distance from us. We will be there and we will achieve it,” he said.

Masari clarified that APC adopted consensus strategy for the just concluded ward and local governments congresses held across the 34 councils and 361 political wards of the state based on the general consensus of party members in the state.

Kumo had earlier in his brief remarks lauded party members in the state for the unity among them, observing that there was no parallel congress or skirmishes anywhere in the state.
