Salisu Rimaye of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared the winner of the Saturday supplementary election for the Kankia constituency of Katsina State by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The results were announced in Kankia by INEC Returning Officer Dr. Kamaluddeen Kabo of the Federal University, Dutsinma.
According to Kabo, Abdullahi Ibrahim of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) received 16, 763 votes, losing to Rimaye’s 18, 157 votes.
He claimed there were 35, 037 valid votes cast out of a total of 78, 224 registered voters, 37,030 accredited voters, and 78, 224 registered voters.
35,548 votes were cast overall, and 511 of those votes were rejected.
Salisu Rimaye of the APC is hereby declared the winner and returned elected, having satisfied the requirements of the law, according to me Dr. Kamaladdeen Kabo, the returning officer for the Kankia, State Constituency election held on April 15, 2023.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the Tafashiya ward had two polling units while the Tafashiya ward had one in each of the following wards: Galadima A, Galadima B, Tsa, and Rimaye.
