APGA Urges Governor Alex Otti To Return, Labels Labour Party A Crisis Zone

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has extended an open invitation to Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, urging him to return to the party where he began his political journey. The call was made during a stakeholders’ meeting of the Abia South Senatorial District, held last week.

Addressing party faithful, APGA’s National Vice Chairman (South East), Augustine Ehiemere, described APGA as the most stable and ideologically driven political party in the country. He warned Governor Otti against being lured into political alliances with parties he described as unstable.

According to Ehiemere, “Labour Party has become a breeding ground for internal crisis. ADC is nearly in shambles, APC is no longer safe, and the PDP is already in decline. Governor Otti belongs in APGA, the party that gave him a platform and remains a home of political stability.”

He praised the governor for his achievements so far, particularly in enhancing security, welfare, and the prompt payment of workers’ salaries and pensions. Ehiemere also lauded the establishment of the Abia State Security Trust Fund and Otti’s collaborative efforts with Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah.

However, he urged Otti to address the lingering issue of unpaid gratuities owed to retired state workers.

Reaffirming the party’s support, Ehiemere encouraged APGA members across Abia to stay united and committed to the party’s values, expressing confidence that the party remains a reliable platform for future leadership in the region.

The call highlights the intensifying political manoeuvring ahead of Nigeria’s next electoral cycle, as various parties reposition themselves for 2027.
