The Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen Tukur Buratai has reiterated the commitment of the Nigerian Army to an enduring interagency collaboration for the sake of national security.
Gen Buratai was speaking at the Command Officers Mess Abuja while handing over two newly purchased Hilux vans to the Nigerian Parks Service to facilitate patrols of the parks and forest reserves in the country.
Represented by the Chief of Army Standards and Evaluation Maj Gen OF Azinta Gen Buratai assured the service of continued collaboration with a view to ending insurgency, kidnapping and other criminal activities in the country.
In his remarks, the Director of Army Procurement and Project, Maj Gen AO Adetayo noted that Nigeria’s parks and forests need to be well protected to keep criminal elements away from perpetrating their evil acts which necessitated the partnership with the Parks Service.
In his response, the Conservator General of the National Parks Service, Mr Ibrahim Goni while thanking the Chief of Army Staff for the gesture assured that the vehicles will be put to good use.
Mr Goni further called on other security agencies in the country to emulate Buratai and come to the aid of his service.
