Babachir Lawal: Muslim-Muslim Ticket Has Opened A Pandora Box

The country is suffering as a result of the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) Muslim-Muslim ticket, according to former Secretary to the Government of the Federation Babachir Lawal.
Lawal claimed in an interview with Arise News that the ruling party’s ticket has opened a Pandora’s box.
Nigerians would find it hard to resist a Christian-Christian presidential ticket in the future, he said.

Lawal hinted that the country is currently suffering as a result of the Muslim-Muslim ticket when he said, “When the leader decides to practice evil, the society suffers.”

He went on to say, “It has opened a Pandora box.” Nigerians will find it extremely difficult to prevent someone putting forth a Christian-Christian ticket now that a precedent has been established. However, I was also upset by the precedent due to a sense of equity as well as religious concerns. Everything we do must be equitable. If we don’t, we will carry the repercussions of our current actions, which discriminate against the sick section of society and lack equity. The penalty we are receiving, in my opinion, is partly due to that.

When a leader chooses to act immorally, society suffers. And that contributes to the current state of affairs.

In addition to Muslim-Muslim or Christian-Christian tickets, I never forget that our regional balances are just as important as the ticket itself. Before people can devote their energies to efforts to build and unify the nation, they must have a sense of belonging.
