Bauchi State police arrested an 18-year-old pregnant housewife for beating her five-year-old stepdaughter to death for defecating on her body.
While presenting the suspect to journalists at the command’s headquarters on Tuesday, Bauchi State Commissioner of Police Auwal Muhammad said this.
He said the suspect, Khadija Adamu, of Kandahar, a neighborhood of Bauchi, was apprehended after injuring the youngster seriously.
On September 28, 2023, at 9.25 pm, Abdulaziz Adamu, male (38), of Kandahar area Bauchi, reported at A’ Divisional Police Headquarters that Khadija Adamu, female (18), of the same address beat up her stepdaughter, Hafsat Garba, female (5), causing serious injuries.

“After receiving the report, a team of detectives led by DPO rushed to the scene and took the victim to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, where the doctor declared her dead.
“Preliminary Investigation revealed that the suspect beat the victim because she passed stool that spoiled her clothes and she suffered various body injuries,” he said.
He said the suspect confessed to the alleged offense against her without much argument during interrogation and would be charged in court after the inquiry is complete.
