The Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Emmanuel Tonye Isenah, is currently under immense pressure mounted on him by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to resign his position.
The alleged plot to get Isenah out was championed by some leaders of the party demanding that Isenah hands his position to a lawmaker from Southern Ijaw Local Government Area in a bid to secure the council’s votes.
Recall that the party is reportedly still embattled from its post-primary election controversies which it is yet to recover from.
Meanwhile, the resignation plot has however sparked fresh crisis within the party in the state.
