According to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman and elder statesman Bode George, the party has realized its failure and learned its lesson.
George said this in an interview with Politics Today on Channels Television just after the party’s important National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Tuesday to address the PDP’s dilemma.
He claims that the PDP has been revived. He insisted that the party’s roots are too deep for it to perish, comparing it to an Iroko tree.
He claimed that certain politicians have deviated from the party’s founding fathers’ aspirations and are self-centered.
“The resurrection has already been completed today. Because the tap root is so deep, this party is an iroko tree, which never dies,” George remarked.

“The beginning of the meeting yesterday and today was the lesson we learned. It brought to recall the height of our political party’s existence. I felt rejuvenated as I exited the chambers.
“The PDP NEC meeting served as a realization of our mistakes and actions. “No individual can claim ownership of this party; it is not a party for one person,” he continued.
The elder statesman added that Adolphus Wabara, the chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees, or BoT, urged PDP members to be unselfish instead of selfish.
