Borno: NAF Airstrikes Eliminate Dozens of Terrorists, Destroy Insurgent Hideout

Numerous terrorists have been neutralized and their hideouts in Borno State destroyed by the Nigerian Air Force, or NAF, as part of its stepped-up counterterrorism operations in the Northeast.

Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters, Nigerian Air Force, said in a statement released Thursday that the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (AC OPHK) carried out the precision attacks on Wednesday, September 17, at around 10:50 a.m.

According to Ejodame, the airstrikes were carried out in response to intelligence and surveillance inputs that verified the strange activities at Bula Madibale in the Gezuwa general region.

He disclosed that roughly 45 terrorists, some on bicycles and motorcycles, had gathered at the spot, where two insurgent-related flags were also seen. The Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai initiated a coordinated air interdiction in response to this reliable intelligence.

The statement said, in part, that “the strikes achieved devastating impact, eliminating several terrorists at the gathering point, while the flagged structure and other hostile assets at the location were destroyed.”
The action, the NAF spokesman continued, demonstrates the military’s determination to prevent terrorists from having the ability to reorganize, re-enforce, or launch any attacks on local residents.

He reiterated the Armed Forces’ dedication to bringing peace and stability back, especially in the Northeast.
