Borno Police Bolster Security Ahead of Tinubu’s Visit

Prior to President Bola Tinubu’s planned visit to the state on Saturday, the Borno State Police Command has stepped up security measures.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, has implemented a thorough security architecture to guarantee a secure and trouble-free presidential visit, according to a statement released in Maiduguri by ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, PPRO, the Police Public Relations Officer.

The statement claims that conventional police officers, tactical teams, surveillance squads, crowd control units, and Explosive Ordnance Disposal, or EOD, units are all part of the security deployment.

The police stated that in order to ensure public safety and allow dignitaries to move freely, various routes in Maiduguri, especially the parallel route from Airport Road to Shehu Road, may undergo temporary traffic limits or diversions.

Residents and drivers were urged to exercise patience and follow the authorized instructions of the on-duty security officers.

Before, during, and after the presidential visit, the Command informed the public of its dedication to safeguarding people and property while urging locals to cooperate, be vigilant, and show support.

Additionally, ASP Daso advised the public to report any suspicious activity or security-related issues as soon as possible to the closest police station or via designated emergency contact channels.
