A Chief Magistrate Court in Abuja has ruled that Uche Aigbe, the presiding pastor of the House On The Rock Church, must appear in court to answer for the illegal possession of firearms that were discovered in his possession.
Aigbe’s no-case submission was reportedly rejected by the court, which determined that the trial objection lacked merit and substance.
Aigbe, Promise Ukachukwu, and Olakunle Ogunleye were accused by the prosecution of conspiring to illegally and forcibly possess an AK-47 rifle on February 12, 2023.
Additionally, the prosecution contended that the defendants obtained the firearm from Inspector Musa Audu, a member of the Wuye Division, who was assigned to guard duty at the aforementioned Church.

The prosecution further alleged that the defendants made inciting and intimidating statements to the church congregation that could lead to a disturbance and breach of peace while preaching a sermon about faith in the Church and used the firearm as an example.
According to the court, the prosecution’s case contained enough evidence to support Aigbe’s prosecution.
Uche Aigbe, Promise Ukachukwu, and Olakunle Ogunleye had been accused by the police of criminal intimidation, criminal conspiracy, and illegal possession of restricted weapons.
