Hon. Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, the Chief Judge of Ekiti State, passed away.

A trustworthy source in Ado Ekiti verified to the correspondent that he did not want his name to be mentioned.

The source claims that Justice Adeyeye passed away early morning.

Justice Adeyeye has been indisposed since July 12, 2023, according to the correspondent’s investigation, after suffering severe injuries when a portion of the state high court complex wall collapsed on him in his office at Ado Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti state.

Although there hasn’t been a formal announcement of his passing, the state’s FIDA association of foreign female lawyers has offered its sympathies to the family.

“FIDA Ekiti consoles with the family of the Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Hon. Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, on his call to glory with deep sorrow in our hearts and in total submission to God’s will,” the condolence letter said.

“May he rest with his creator.”

“I ask God to give the Ekiti State community, the judiciary, and the family the strength to endure this irreversible loss.

Goodbye, fantastic one.

Oyinade Olatunbosun, the FIDA Chairperson for Ekiti State, was contacted for confirmation and assured our correspondent that she would provide a statement legally signed by her as soon as it was available.

Born in Araromi Ugbesi, Ekiti East Local Government, Ekiti State, in 1960, Justice Adeyeye was admitted to the bar in 1986. Before joining the Ekiti State Judiciary Service Commission soon after the State’s establishment in 1996, he began his career as a State counsel in the civil service of the former Ondo State.

He has held various positions in the election petition tribunal and was promoted to the rank of judge in the Ekiti State high court in 2002.
