The Federal High Court in Abuja’s Justice Inyang Ekwo has mandated that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) free Aisha Achimugu, a socialite and entrepreneur who has been imprisoned, within twenty-four hours.
The directive was issued by the judge on Wednesday, and he also mandated that all parties return to court on May 2, 2025, to report on the outcome of his decision.
The EFCC is presently looking into Achimugu for alleged crimes that include criminal conspiracy, money laundering, corruption, getting money through deception, and possessing property that may have been obtained illegally.

The EFCC claimed she had broken the terms of her administrative bail, which the commission had previously granted, and she was subsequently listed as wanted.
Achimugu was ordered by Justice Ekwo on Monday to submit to the EFCC as part of the ongoing investigation. The court also mandated that the agency bring her before the court on Wednesday, April 30, to give an update.
The EFCC detained her once she appeared, however the court has now ordered her to be released immediately within a 24-hour period.
