BREAKING: Osun House of Assembly Expresses Confidence in Gov Adeleke Ahead of 2026 Election

In preparation for the 2026 gubernatorial election, the members of the Osun State House of Assembly have endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke for a second term, demonstrating their collective faith in him.
Taofiq Olayiwola of the Ede South State Constituency backed the motion for this vote of confidence, which was put forth by Adewumi Adeyemi of the Obokun State Constituency.
According to reports, the 26-member Assembly, which is made up of one member from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and 25 members from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), showed their steadfast support for the governor during a plenary session on Tuesday.

In honor of the governor’s 65th birthday, Speaker Adewale Egbedun acknowledged his dedication to his five-point program and his commitment to the progress of Osun State during the session.
As representatives of the people, the Speaker emphasized that the lawmakers are proud of the governor’s leadership and urged him to strive for even greater success.

Simeon Popoola, the lawmaker for the Boripe-Boluwaduro State Constituency, paid a moving homage to the governor, praising his honesty and sincerity.

“Putting politics aside, Mr. Governor is a straightforward, loving, and sincere individual,” he stated. These qualities have significantly improved his performance.

The Speaker called for a vote after the proposal, and the chamber approved it.
