Breaking: Police Arrest Pastor Enenche Enenche After Abba Moro’s Birthday Appearance

The Nigerian Police Force has arrested Abuja-based clergyman Obonyilo Peter Enenche, widely known as Pastor Enenche Enenche, following his appearance at Senator Abba Moro’s birthday celebration on Thursday.

Sources confirmed that the arrest is linked to an ongoing legal case involving allegations of cyberbullying and criminal defamation brought against him by Pastor Paul Enenche of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, who is said to be his relative.

The arrest occurred shortly after Enenche Enenche was seen at the event in Abuja. Authorities had been tracking him in connection with a case currently being heard at the Wuse Zone 6 Magistrate Court.

Court Orders Surety to Justify Bail Bond

Prior to his arrest, the court had taken steps to enforce accountability over his absence. On June 26, 2025, Magistrate Emmanuel A. Iyanna ordered the surety who posted bail for Pastor Enenche to appear and explain why the bail bond should not be forfeited.

The ruling followed a motion filed by the Inspector General of Police, through prosecution counsel Chima Chukwu, in a criminal defamation suit involving both Pastor Enenche Enenche and a former Dunamis pastor, Abraham Daniel.

Legal Dispute Intensifies

During proceedings, defence lawyer Dr. S. M. Oyeghe argued that the prosecution had bypassed due process, noting that a warrant for Enenche’s arrest had already been issued. According to him, the onus was on the authorities—not the surety—to produce the defendant in court.

Despite the defence’s objections, the court upheld the prosecution’s request, insisting the surety must show cause for the bail bond.

The case has been adjourned until July 29, 2025, when Pastor Paul Enenche and another complainant, Paul Adama, are expected to give testimony.
