Buckingham reacts to Meghan, Harry’s claims
Buckingham Palace has broken its silence on explosive claims by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan.
This came hours after Meghan accused an unnamed member of the royal family of making racist comment about Archie, her child and product of her marriage to Harry.
But contrary to the expectations of the public that the Palace would join issue with the duo by launching a lengthy rebuttal against Meghan’s claim, the residence of the British sovereign’s reaction is conciliatory rather than combative.
“The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.
“The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always much-lovedved family members.” a place statement on behalf of the Queen read
Recall that in their tell-all CBS interview with Oprah Winfrey, Harry and Meghan claimed an unnamed member of the royal family had questioned what colour skin their baby Archie might have. Meghan also claimed she had felt suicidal, but her pleas for help with her mental health were ignored.
Her husband Prince Harry also condemned his relatives for failing to criticise colonial undertones in media coverage, in a series of damning and disturbing claims that threaten to spark a racism scandal around Buckingham Palace.
