Usman Ododo, a candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), was endorsed by President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday.

At the State House in Aso Rock, Abuja, on Friday, Governor Yahaya Bello gave Ododo to Buhari.

Recall that on Friday, April 14, Ododo won the APC governorship primary in Kogi.

Speaking to State House reporters, Ododo declared that if he won the upcoming election in November, he would be willing and ready to carry on Governor Bello’s legacy.

He claimed that his background in both the public and private sectors of the economy made him the ideal candidate to steer Kogi State’s leadership ship.

He expressed his belief that he would win the election.

Senator Smart Adeyemi, who represents the Kogi West Senatorial District, the son of the former governor of Kogi State, Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, and three other candidates for the primary have called for the immediate cancellation of the election.

The complaint of the disgruntled governorship candidates was that Ododo was purportedly unlawfully chosen, in violation of Article 20 of the APC Constitution, Section 177 of the 1999 Constitution, Sections 29 and 84 of the Electoral Act, and Section 177 of the 1999 Constitution.
