Nigerian singer-songwriter, Damini Ogulu, professionally known as Burna Boy, has snagged the Best African Act of the Year award at the 8th edition of the All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, held at Dakar Arena in Diamniadio, Senegal, on Sunday.
The self-styled ‘African Giant’ also won the Best Album of the Year award.
His compatriots, Wizkid clinched the Best Act in West Africa award, Davido walked home with the Best Male Act in African Inspirational Music, while Adekunle Gold won two awards: Best Act Group in African contemporary music and Best Act Duo or Group in African Pop, featuring Davido.
However, Guinea’s Manamba Kanye snagged the Best Female Act in West Africa award, while Ivorian singer, Didi B went home with the Song of the Year Award.
