Bye-Elections: Mark and ADC Leader Call on INEC to Maintain Impartiality

In the nationwide bye-elections set for Saturday, August 16, 2025, Senator David Mark, National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to maintain the values of fairness and openness.

In order to rebuild public confidence in the electoral process, Mark also encouraged the electoral umpire to carry out a procedure.

The previous senatorial, house of representatives, and state house of assembly candidates were praised by the former president of the Senate, who called the ADC a “child of necessity,” originating from a sincere desire to provide Nigerians with an alternative and better administration.

In the bye-elections for the Senate, House of Representatives, and State Houses of Assembly in the states of Anambra, Edo, Oyo, Taraba, Adamawa, Kaduna, Zamfara, Kano, Niger, and Ogun, the ADC will put forward candidates.

Senator Mark urged the public to give the party a chance to establish its value in a statement released by his media adviser, Paul Mumeh.

He emphasized that “all eyes are on the Commission” to rectify previous mistakes that have damaged its reputation, and that a genuinely free, fair, and credible election on Saturday might help restore it.

The former Senate President urged ADC candidates and their supporters to abide by electoral regulations while being on guard against intimidation or manipulation, and he praised them for their bravery and commitment.

In order to ensure that the people’s will is allowed to prevail without hindrance, Senator Mark Marks urged security authorities to ensure that players are treated equally.
