He said “Never be surprised that you have battles, the greater your destiny, the greater your battles”.

According to the revered cleric, “A life without battles is a dead life, your battles shows your importance, glory and it indicate your greatness”.

He explained that, Small destiny attracts small battles while the greater the battle, the greater glory and “things are manipulated from the spirit realm to happen physically”.

Stressing and emphasising that, “if you joke with your destiny, you will end up a joke”.

Using this a backdrop about his own transformation, stages in life and fulfilling destiny, Komaiya concluded “No one can fulfill their destiny in a grand style without the annoitining”.

The visit was confirmed by US Congressman Riley Moore, who announced on X that the team met with Bishop Wilfred Anagbe, Bishop Isaac Dugu, and the Tiv paramount ruler, His Royal Highness James Ioruza. Moore described the engagements as deeply emotional and significant.

“It was an honour and deeply moving to meet with His Excellency Bishop Wilfred Anagbe, Bishop Isaac Dugu, and His Royal Highness James Ioruza, traditional ruler of the Tiv people, to discuss the ongoing genocidal campaign by the Fulani in Benue State,” Moore wrote.

Moore, known for his advocacy for persecuted Christian communities, affirmed that the United States would not overlook the concerns raised by local leaders. According to him, the delegation aims to push for meaningful action to protect vulnerable communities.

He also commended the Nigerian government’s willingness to cooperate with the US on security reforms, referencing his meeting with National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu on Sunday. Moore disclosed that their broader discussions touched on terrorism in the North-East and continued killings in the Middle Belt — matters he said remain priorities for President Donald Trump.

Moore highlighted that both countries discussed actionable strategies capable of significantly improving national security if fully implemented. He also praised the recent rescue of 100 abducted Catholic schoolchildren as a positive signal of the government’s intensified security response.

He added that the establishment of a joint Nigeria–US task force reflects the growing synergy between both nations, while stressing that commitments must translate into real action. Moore closed his message by extending blessings to Nigerians and expressing optimism about continued engagement.

Lawal made the disclosure while speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme on Monday. According to him, a delegation, which included Tinubu, Buhari, and Rotimi Amaechi, reportedly lobbied the US administration, raising global awareness about the security situation in Nigeria.

“Trump might be right, might not be right, but don’t forget, there was a delegation that first went to the United States to tell Obama then that Christians were being slaughtered in Nigeria. It included this man. Which man? The president (Tinubu). That APC delegation. I saw the picture. Buhari was there. Amaechi was there. I think he was the one even sitting close to the president where they went to lobby the Americans that the Goodluck government was carrying out genocide in Nigeria,” Lawal stated.

Irony of Denying Insecurity Under Current Government

Lawal criticized the current administration for denying ongoing security challenges despite previously raising alarm about similar issues under Jonathan’s government.

“So these are the issues that beat your mind. They go there themselves and say it does happen. They come back and when we say it happened, they say, no, it doesn’t happen anymore because we are in government,” he said.

He emphasized that Nigerians are less concerned with political arguments and more focused on personal safety and protection of property.

“Forget about whether there’s genocide or not in Nigeria. The issue is that. Guarantee our security of life and our property. That is it. That’s all we want from government,” Lawal added.

Call for Government to Focus on Security

A vocal critic of the current administration, Lawal urged the government to prioritize tangible security measures rather than defending its record in the media. He stressed that citizens expect protection from violence and insecurity, which should be the primary focus of any responsible government.

Lawal’s revelations have reignited discussions on the Nigerian government’s responsibility to ensure the safety of all citizens, particularly in regions plagued by violent attacks and communal tensions.

The church added that the goal of this program was to help the grantees close the gap between financial empowerment and skill development.

Speaking during the RCCG Living Spring Youth Convention in Abuja and presenting the equipment to the recipients, Ola Adejubee, Pastor-In-Charge of Region 46, RCCG, Abuja, urged the nation’s Christian community to start empowering young people for a better country.

The pastor also urged clergymen across to refocus youth’s focus on learning skills for the country’s development, while encouraging young people to keep sharing God’s message for historic success.

“Consider something, pray, and see God’s manifestation in everything you do,” he continued.

The host and Regional Youth Pastor of RCCG Region 46, Pastor Kayode Emosu, also spoke at the event and stated that raising the living standards of Nigerian youths was the main goal of empowerment.

He said that empowering young people would result in a sharp decline in crime and criminal activity nationwide, not just in Abuja.

Therefore, in order to guarantee a decrease in crime and criminal activity in Nigeria, he urged the government at all levels to invest in people, particularly the youth.

The goal is to incentivize everyone, he stated. We therefore believed that we could get everyone on the same page.

Additionally, Regional Youth Pastor Region 46’s wife, Pastor Mrs. Victoria Emosu, encouraged the young people to focus on their abilities and refrain from wearing offensive clothing.

Pastor Segun Ademola said he was thrilled with the program for youth empowerment.

Ademola also urged the recipients to use the tools they were given wisely in order to improve both their own and society’s standing.

Additionally, Mr. Chris Mayomi, a beneficiary, praised the organizers for the initiative.

According to Mayomi, he was provided with sewing machine equipment, which he claimed would help him grow his company and elevate his standing as a fashion designer.

Rebecca Williams also gave the organizers credit for their empowerment.

“God has been empowering the youth through the church, and I pray that the organizers continue to see God’s favor,” she said.

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, represented by his Special Adviser on Christian Religion, Very Rev. Bukola Adeleke, alongside other dignitaries, witnessed the groundbreaking ceremony of the Lagos Nigeria Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints held on Saturday in Ikoyi.

Also in attendance were Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Jimoh Moshood (represented by CSP Ezekiel Ugbotor), President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, Mr. Eze Anaba, and a host of media and academic figures including Dr. Reuben Abati of Arise News and Professor Tunde Akanni of Lagos State University.

Speaking at the ceremony, Elder Alfred Kyungu, President of the Africa West Area Presidency of the Church, described the temple as a “house of the Lord” where members will perform sacred ordinances and enter into lifelong covenants. He emphasized that temples differ from regular chapels as they are reserved for specific religious rites, such as eternal family sealings and other ordinances vital to the faith.

“The temple is a sacred place. It is not used for regular Sunday worship or community activities. It is dedicated to connecting people to God in deeper, eternal ways,” Elder Kyungu said.

He also underlined the temple’s broader impact, stating it would strengthen moral values and spiritual commitment among citizens, thereby contributing to nation-building.

The Lagos temple is the second of its kind in Nigeria, following the Aba Nigeria Temple, which was dedicated in 2005. Sunday Oyedeji, President of the Lagos Egbeda Stake, recalled witnessing the Aba temple’s groundbreaking over two decades ago as a young missionary and shared spiritual insights from Church President Russell M. Nelson on the blessings of temple worship.

The proposed Lagos temple will be built on a 2.7-acre site and feature a 19,800-square-foot sacred structure, an arrival centre, and patron housing.

Commending the Church, Rev. Adeleke said: “This foundation is built on solid rock. We believe God will see it to completion. The state government stands in solidarity with you on this great spiritual journey.”

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which began operations in Nigeria in 1978, has grown to over 233,000 members across 810 worship centres. The Lagos temple is part of a global network of 382 temples that are either operational, under construction, or announced.

President Nelson has consistently affirmed the Church’s mission to extend sacred temple blessings to members worldwide, stating: “We invite all of God’s children to come unto their Saviour, receive the blessings of the holy temple, and find enduring joy.”

Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has responded to widespread calls for his reinstatement by prominent political figures and stakeholders across Rivers State and Nigeria.

Speaking during the service of songs held in honour of the late elder statesman and PANDEF leader, Edwin Clark, in Abuja on Sunday, Fubara made remarks that signaled a deep personal detachment from his former office.

In an unexpected reaction to several passionate speeches urging his reinstatement and condemning the state of emergency declared in Rivers, Fubara said, “Not everything is by Oshogbe. Do you even know if I want to go back there?” He followed up with a striking declaration: “My spirit has already left there.”

His comments came after a series of addresses by political leaders and elders who strongly criticized the suspension of the governor, his deputy, and the entire Rivers State House of Assembly, describing it as unconstitutional and detrimental to democracy.

Fubara, however, distanced himself from the views expressed at the event, stating clearly that the opinions shared were those of the individuals and not necessarily reflective of his own stance. “Those are their personal opinions,” he noted, signaling reluctance to align with the public outcry.

He went on to appeal to the gathering to shift focus away from politics and instead honour the memory of the late Edwin Clark, a revered figure in Nigeria’s socio-political landscape.

Fubara’s statement has added a new twist to the unfolding political situation in Rivers State, leaving many wondering about his political future and the fate of governance in the oil-rich state.

Her remarks come in response to Karimi’s sharp criticism of her recent actions in the Senate, which he described as a “complete mess and an embarrassment.”

The dispute follows a confrontation between Senator Natasha and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, which led Karimi to publicly express his disapproval. He lamented that despite repeated warnings and advice, Senator Natasha’s actions had allegedly disgraced Kogi State and the nation as a whole.

“All of our warnings to her were ignored. Therefore, it might be accepted that previous Governor Yahaya Bello anticipated it,” Karimi said, implying that Natasha’s conduct was predictable. He further asserted that her behavior had not only tarnished Kogi State’s reputation but had also embarrassed the entire country.

In a swift response, Senator Natasha issued a statement on Sunday, arguing that mandatory drug testing for senators could help prevent erratic legislative behavior.

“The NDLEA must test senators on a regular basis,” she stated. “One approach to preventing unpredictable legislative hallucinations in parliament is to ensure lawmakers are not under the influence of substances that impair judgment.”

Her proposal echoes a broader initiative by the NDLEA chairman, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa, who has previously advocated for drug integrity tests as a prerequisite for political candidates. The idea has already gained traction in some parts of Nigeria, notably in Kano State, where the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) requires councillorship and chairmanship candidates to undergo drug tests before contesting elections.

Senator Natasha’s remarks have reignited debates about the role of substance use in governance and legislative decision-making. She emphasized that expanding drug testing to senators would help uphold the integrity of the legislative process, ensuring that critical decisions affecting Nigerians are made with a clear and rational mind.

“The NDLEA can contribute to preserving the integrity of the legislative process and preventing choices taken while under the influence of drugs,” she stated. “Better representation for Nigerians and more efficient governance may result from this action.”

Her comments have sparked mixed reactions among political observers and citizens. While some see her call as a much-needed reform to promote accountability in the National Assembly, others view it as a direct attack on her critics.

Senator Karimi has yet to formally respond to Natasha’s latest remarks, but his initial statements suggest he remains deeply concerned about the image and conduct of lawmakers from Kogi State. The ongoing rift between the two senators highlights deeper tensions within the Senate, particularly as the nation faces mounting governance challenges.

As this controversy unfolds, it remains to be seen whether the NDLEA or the Senate leadership will take any steps toward implementing mandatory drug testing for lawmakers. For now, Senator Natasha’s proposal has added another layer to the growing debate on political ethics and accountability in Nigeria.
