A corpse has been found intact in Iro area of Akure, Ondo State 41 years ago after being laid to rest.

The deceased, identified as Baba Boboye, was said to have died in 1978 and buried in a room in his house same year.

Residents were shocked on Wednesday when his children exhumed his corpse only to discover it had not decayed.

According to a source quoted by Punchng.com, the corpse was exhumed after the building was marked for demolition to make way for ongoing road construction in the area.

“Even the coffin, in which the man was buried, did not decay. Everything was intact. The corpse was as fresh as if it had just been buried,” the source was quoted saying.

The corpse, the source added, was moved to Ijoka area of the town where it was reburied.

One of the deceased’s children, Florence Kayode, 60, said the family found the incident incredible and has been unable to explain the mystery.
