A federal high court in Enugu has ruled Samuel Anyanwu’s post as Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national secretary void.

The order was made in response to a motion notice submitted by one Nwabueze Ugwu requesting that the court recognize Anyanwu’s replacement, Sunday Udeh-Okoye, as proposed by the South East Stakeholders.
The order was granted by Justice C.O Ajah, who stated that the plaintiff had met the legal criteria by filing the request. He further ordered the suit’s defendants, the PDP National Chairman, National Secretary, and Deputy National Chairman South East, to accept the recommendation awaiting the outcome of the case.

The court noted that the motion was supported by 23 paragraphs of the applicant’s deposed affidavit.

The case has been postponed until October 30 in order to continue the hearing.

Recall that the PDP’s Southeast stakeholders in Enugu State recently resolved to support Anyanwu as the party’s governorship candidate in the November 11 election in Imo State and replace him with Sunday Udeh-Okoye as the party’s new national secretary to give him more time to focus on his campaign and the election.
