Covid-19: Nigerian troops who killed 105 terrorists have consoled us over Kyari’s death – Former CP Tsav

A former Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav, has hailed the Nigerian Army for comforting the nation with its latest operation in Yobe State following the death of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari

Almost the same period Kyari’s painful demise to complications from Covid-19 struck the country on Saturday morning, troops of Operation Lafiya Dole recorded a massive victory over Boko Haram/ ISWAP terrorists in Buni Gari with 105 killed.

This feat comes barely a week after Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General T.Y Buratai relocated to the Theatre of operations and vowed never to return until the final clearance operation is completed.

In a statement signed on Monday, the retired police chief said the troops on the frontlines have wiped away tears of Nigerians over Kyari’s death.

According to Tsav, the Army’s outing in Yobe is reassuring in the wake of coronavirus global pandemic, giving Nigerians a reason to have faith in the country again.

The ex-CP was full of kind words for the COAS, who he said has once again led by example showing unbelievable bravery, commitment and courage.

Tsav also commended the troops for raising up to the occasion, adding that they are indeed deserving of commendations.

While calling on the nation to continue to rally behind the troops, Tsav, however, urged them and other Nigerians on the frontlines to continue to render selfless services to their fatherland.

I salute the commitment and bravery of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, who has continued to lead our troops even at this trying period where the country is mourning the passing of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari.

The sacrifices of our troops in battle is indeed commendable given the fact that they have been in active service to our fatherland and their numerous sacrifices are yielding the desired results as evidenced in the killing of over 100 Boko Haram terrorist in a single operation in Yobe State.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, has indeed led by example. It behooves on all well-meaning Nigerians to continue to pray for our troops in battle in North-East Nigeria for God to continue to protect them and give the leadership of the Nigerian Army the wisdom to continue to lead diligently till the Boko Haram terrorist group are finally defeated.

The news from Yobe State on the exploits of our troops has indeed wiped our tears over the painful demise of Mallam Abba Kyari arising from complications from COVID-19. Though his services were needed at this critical point of our existence, we are consoled that Mallam Abba Kyari lived a worthy life and in active service to the country and humanity.

I am consoled with the fact that there are Nigerians out there that have continued to give their best to Nigeria. With such, it indicates that we are on a steady path of progress, growth, and sustainable development.

I consequently wish to encourage our loyal troops in battle in North-East Nigeria and all medical workers across the country to continue to render selfless services to our fatherland in this trying and difficult period.
