A former Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav, has hailed the Nigerian Army for comforting the nation with its latest operation in Yobe State following the death of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari
Almost the same period Kyari’s painful demise to complications from Covid-19 struck the country on Saturday morning, troops of Operation Lafiya Dole recorded a massive victory over Boko Haram/ ISWAP terrorists in Buni Gari with 105 killed.
This feat comes barely a week after Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General T.Y Buratai relocated to the Theatre of operations and vowed never to return until the final clearance operation is completed.
In a statement signed on Monday, the retired police chief said the troops on the frontlines have wiped away tears of Nigerians over Kyari’s death.
According to Tsav, the Army’s outing in Yobe is reassuring in the wake of coronavirus global pandemic, giving Nigerians a reason to have faith in the country again.
The ex-CP was full of kind words for the COAS, who he said has once again led by example showing unbelievable bravery, commitment and courage.
Tsav also commended the troops for raising up to the occasion, adding that they are indeed deserving of commendations.
While calling on the nation to continue to rally behind the troops, Tsav, however, urged them and other Nigerians on the frontlines to continue to render selfless services to their fatherland.
